Birds of Upper Swaledale near Pry House Farm B&B

Ring Ouzel

The ring ouzel regularly returns to Upper Swaledale. They nest on or close to the ground and in rocky crevices. Our heather moorland, ancient dry stone walls and abandoned tumbling buildings suit them well. The ring ouzel is on the red conservation list. Upper Swaledale is good place to observe them.

Meadow Pipit

The meadow pipit can be seen on the edges of the moorland and in the pastures surrounding Pry House Farm Bed & Breakfast. This delightful shy, little songbird is quick of flight and spellingbinding to watch.
